Qualification Details

  • 1. Master’s Degree or Equivalent: Candidates must have a master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university or institution. The degree should be in Humanities (including languages), Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc.

 

  • 2. Minimum Marks: General/Unreserved/General-EWS Candidates: Must have secured at least 55% marks in their master’s degree or equivalent examination. OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender Candidates: Must have secured at least 50% marks in their master’s degree or equivalent examination

 

  • 3. Final Year Students: Eligibility: Candidates who are in the final year of their master’s degree or awaiting their results can also apply. Such candidates will be considered eligible only if they complete their master’s degree with the required percentage of marks within two years from the date of the NET result

 

  • 4. Ph.D. Degree Holders: Relaxation: Candidates with a Ph.D. degree whose master’s level examination was completed by September 19, 1991, are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in UGC NET
