JPSC Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has recently announced a new recruitment drive. The commission is inviting applications for 170 Forest Range Officer (FRO) posts. Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Forest Range Officer position, candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria:

1. Educational Qualification: The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Candidates with a degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related fields will be given preference.
2. Age Limit: The minimum age to apply is 21 years, and the maximum age is 35 years as of August 1, 2024. However, there is age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per government rules.
3. Physical Standards: Since the job of a Forest Range Officer involves physical activities, candidates must meet certain physical standards. The minimum height for male candidates is 163 cm, and for female candidates, it is 150 cm. Candidates must also pass a physical fitness test.

Selection Process

The selection process for the Forest Range Officer post will consist of three stages:

1. Preliminary Examination: This will be an objective-type exam. It will test the candidate’s general knowledge, reasoning ability, and aptitude.
2. Main Examination: Candidates who clear the preliminary exam will be eligible to appear for the main exam. The main exam will be descriptive and will test the candidate’s knowledge of forestry, environment, and general studies.
